The short answer is a resounding “YES!”

With the uptake in voice activated activities, more and more people are asking “Hey Google” or “Hey Siri” to find products and services online. If your business is not listed on Apple Maps, you could be missing out on a big chunk of the voice search pie.

Although Apple Maps was slow to gain traction after it’s launch in 2012, it has over time caught up with Google Maps in terms of functionality and usage. If you’re looking to increase the online visibility of your business it makes sense to appear in Apple Maps.

How To Be LIsted & Found On Apple Maps

Step 1 – Sign In

Sign into Apple Maps Connect with your Apple ID. To sign in to Apple Maps Connect, go to https://mapsconnect.apple.com/

Step 2 – Check Your Business Isn’t Listed Already

You will arrive at your dashboard I checked that our business wasn’t already listed by searching on the business name.

Step 3 – Add Your Business

Select “Add a new place” to add your business

Step 4 – Add your business categories and select “done”.

Step 5 – Verify Your Business

Add your business phone number and then verify your business with a phone call from Apple. You can verify later, but if you choose verify now, you will receive an automated phone call from Apple with a 4 digit verification code to enter. Enter the code and select “done”.

Step 6 – Add Your Opening Hours

Add your business opening hours and select “next”.

Step 7 – Add Your Web Links

Add your weblinks and select “next”. Apple Maps will then begin another verification process.

Step 8 – Submit for review

Select the large “submit” button and send your listing off for review.

Step 9 – The final step is to wait!

If Apple is satisfied with the information provided your business will be added to Apple Maps. Once your business is added you will have increased exposure on local search. Apple device customers use Siri to search. Siri automatically searches through queries using Apple Maps so you will one step ahead of the competition if your business is listed and your competition is not.
